Gary Bulla, 67, of Eastland, passed away Tuesday September 2, 2014 in Eastland. Masonic graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland Thursday, 6~8:00 p.m.
Gary was born June 16, 1947 in Borger, TX to John Alton and Maggie Anita (Dowdle) Bulla where he graduated high school. He attended Phillips Jr. College and received a Bachelor’s Degree from West Texas State. He married Candy Irwin on June 1, 1968 in Phillips, TX. In addition to Borger, Gary lived in Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene, and Eastland for the last 30 years. He worked for Chem Search in Irving, and later for Morgan Portable Buildings. He owned and operated K-Bob Steak Houses in Abilene and Borger for many years. He coached Little League, and was a Summer League Baseball Coach from 1968-1990, Pop Warner football coach, and Past President of the Maverick Quarterback Club. Gary was a member of the Eastland Masonic Lodge #467, and the Eastland Rifle and Pistol Club. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Candy Bulla of Eastland; sons, Joel Bulla and wife Jayla of Stephenville, and Shannon Bulla and wife Stephanie of Clyde; grandchildren, Josh Bulla and Jobye Bulla of Stephenville, and Haley Bulla, Brody Bulla, and Braxton Bulla of Clyde.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gary’s name may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St, Dallas, TX 75219.
