Gay Nell Burnett

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, Gay Nell Burnett, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer.
Gay was born on June 19, 1945 in Gorman, TX to J.B and Juanita (McGaha) Blackwell. She graduated from Ranger High School. On July 28, 1962, she married Jimmie Don Burnett. They raised two children, James and Melissa.
Gay was a member of the Mesquite & Rusk Church of Christ. She loved working for First Financial Bank for 33 years and later worked at the Eastland County Courthouse. She cherished all of the friendships she developed over the years.
Gay will be remembered for all the things she loved and shared with her family. Her love for cooking and planning delicious meals, the family vacations and camping in Colorado, playing card games and dominos and flower gardening will be greatly missed and always remembered.
Gay was preceded in death by her father J.B. and her mother Juanita and her brother Fred. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Don, her two children, James and Melissa, Daughter in law, Wendy, three grandchildren, Jamie, Mason and Madilyn, one great granddaughter, Harper, one brother Larry, one sister in law Jan and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday July 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Alameda Cemetery, Ranger Texas.
