George E. Privett

George E. Privett passed from this life Thursday, March 12, 2015. A visitation will be Saturday 6-8 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Strawn, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Gordon, Texas. Interment will be in the New Gordon Cemetery.
George was born July 26, 1939 in Jackson County, Alabama to Lit Staples Privett and Betty Jo McMeans Privett. He graduated from Woodville High School. He married Doris Jane Thomas June 27, 1959 in Trenton, Georgia. He was retired from Avnet and looked after the Greystone Castle at Thurber, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gordon, Texas and he loved to hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, two sons, Phillip Waine Privett and wife Lea and Allen Keith Privett and wife Susan, also guardian son Hanibal Bit-Heydari, four brothers; Charles Olen Privett and wife Jewell, Aubrey Glen Privett and wife Marjarie, Bill Jack Privett and wife Joy, and Donald Ray Privett and wife Marlene, six grandchildren; Joshua Wain Privett, Alyssa Elizabeth Privett, Hunter James Privett, Faith Elizabeth Privett, Chase Waine Privett, Gage Shepard Privett.
