Geraldine (Jerry) Lois Grunewald Kerr Cummings

Geraldine (Jerry) Lois Grunewald Kerr Cummings, 94, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016. Services will be a visitation 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 29th at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 30th also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth.
Jerry was born October 24, 1921 to William and Lois (Horn) Grunewald; she was raised on Samuels Ave in Ft. Worth, Texas. She had many jobs throughout the years besides being a homemaker and raising three kids, she ran a café, worked at Montgomery Wards, did home health care, and many other adventures.
She married Erbert Kerr in 1939, they were in the Air Force for 28 ½ years and had a dairy in Huckabay; he passed on in 1973. In 1974 she married Scottie Cummings and worked with him in his cabinet shop, he passed in 2008. She also worked at the liquor store in Mingus and loved talking to everyone; she also loved animals of all kinds. Jerry was a kind and generous woman and she had a heart of gold, she also loved to make arts and crafts for all here friends. She has been in the Life Care of Haltom since 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Debby Brown; grandson, Jody and wife Kathy; great granddaughter, Eliza; nieces, Tam Gristy and Gerry McCarty; nephew, Alan Kerr, and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “special girls”; Sylvia, Becky, Jan, Vickie, and Bobbie.
