Gerold L. Harris

Gerold L. Harris, age 84, was blessed to meet his Lord and Savior face to face Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home with his loving family gathered around him. Graveside services for Gerold will be at 10 am Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Gerold was born July 5, 1933 in Cisco, TX to James Andrew and Abbie Maureen Jessup Harris. He was a graduate of Eastland High School and Cisco Jr. College. After graduation he joined the US Air Force and spent the next 20 years proudly serving his country. He served in Vietnam during the war and continued to spend most of his tours overseas. After retirement as a Master Sargent, Gerold returned to Eastland County and went to work for Victor Cornelius until his retirement.
Gerold was a member of the Dublin Cloverleaf Square Dancing Club where he met his dance partner, Dorothy McKinnerney, who became his friend and companion for 18 years. Gerold was a member of the Lake Leon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth Anna Brueckel Harris, whom he married in Germany in 1969 and his son Andrew Michael Harris.
He is survived by his two daughters: Manuela Cagle and her husband Ben of Eastland and Rebecca Faulds-Howard of Tyler, a twin brother, Derold Lee Harris, grandchildren: Levi Cagle, Keesha Orrell and Eric Faulds and great-grandchildren: Jack Dene Orrell and Bristol Reese Orrell: a niece, Selena Priddy.
He is also survived by his loving companion, Dorothy McKinnerney, and her family.
