Gladys Gayle Veatch

Fort Worth – Gayle Lewter Veatch, age 88, passed away on January 10, 2014. A private service will be held for family members at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, Texas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Gayle, the youngest of three daughters of W. A. and Gladys Lewter, was born in Hammon, Oklahoma on March 22, 1925. She graduated from Hammon High School and spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma City, Arlington and at Lake Leon, near Ranger, Texas. She was an employee of LTV/ Chance Vaught.

Gayle was always ready for a lively game of Spite and Malice, Trivial Pursuit, or Poker. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings around the holidays and loved her dogs. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.

Gayle was preceded in death by her husband David Veatch.

She is survived by her sisters, Doris Hutchison and Elaine Burke, both of Fort Worth; nieces Jody Hutchison, Susan Murphy, Phyllis Hay, and Carolyn Wynn, and nephew David Burke.
