Grace Haney Boone

Gordon - Grace Haney Boone, 91 of Gordon passed from this life Sunday, March 28, 2021. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 1st from 5 to 7 pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Services will be held Friday, April 2nd at 2pm at the funeral home in Strawn, internment will follow at New Gordon Cemetery.

Grace was born March 7th, 1930 to Ernest Monroe Haney and Grace Estelle McDaniel Haney. Graduating from Gordon High School, class of 1947. Moved to Fort Worth went to work at the Dickie's factory while attending secretarial school. Grace married Willard Roper June 29,1951. She was blessed with three children.

Grace always enjoyed working with her hands. She was creative, enjoyed flower arranging, sewing and gardening throughout her life. Later in life she married L.E. "Slick" Boone. Together they traveled and enjoyed dancing, they were active members of the Ragtimers Square Dance Club. She drove a school bus for Palo Pinto School for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. "Slick" Boone; brothers, Boyd and Buddy; sister, Lorene; and granddaughter, Amanda.

She is survived by her sister, Jean; her children, Phillip Roper, Tim Roper & wife Melody, Jennifer Baker & husband Jerry; 10 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
