Harvey Orville Woods Jr, 90, of Midland, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Midland. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 10, 2014 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Darrel Phillips officiating and under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
H.O. was born July 10, 1923 in Ranger to Harvey Orville and Una Davenport Woods. He worked in the oil field industry at Texaco Inc., he worked as a land man. He married Nellie Ivy Woods on April 4, 1989 in Ranger, TX. He joined the U.S. Army in 1943 serving in Central Europe. He severed in WWII 1942-1945, was awarded 2 purple hearts; Battle of Bulge, was awarded Bronze Star; he served in 3 Battles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ivy Woods and his parents.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Barbra Hamilton and Gloria Sadler; grandchildren, Cari, Moreno, and Traci Sadler, Dean Hamilton; great grandchildren Austin Hamilton.
