Herman Edward Evans

Herman E. Evans, 83 of Ranger, TX passed away at his home Friday, February 28, 2014. There will be a visitation 1 – 2pm Tuesday, March 4 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, TX. Following the visitation, family and friends will gather at the Church of God on the Strawn HWY in Ranger, TX.
Herman was born June 23, 1930 in McAlester, OK to Charles Edward and Claudia Shropshire Evans. On July 5, 1985 he married Peggy K. Wheelhouse in the Eastland County Court House. Herman was a hard worker and worked until he retired as a bulldozer operator for Callahan County. Herman loved to fish and scratch lottery tickets but his wife Peggy was the lucky one. He loved animals of all kinds. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Claudia, 2 sons: Gary and Lonnie, and a daughter Freida. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Wayne and Bob Evans and 1 sister, Madge Eckelmen.
Herman is survived by his wife of 28 yrs. Peggy of Ranger, 4 sons: Ron Evans and his wife Virlee of Midland, Mike Evans and Terry Evans and wife Chris of Irving and Jeff Evans of Ranger, 2 brothers: Al Evans and Johnny Evans both of McAlester, OK and one sister Margaret Wolf of CA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
