Hermus Everett Prine Jr.

Hermus E. Prine, Jr. passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery.
Hermus was born September 11, 1928 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Hermus E. Prine, Sr & Alpha (Daniel) Prine. The family moved to Merritt Island, Florida where his father began working in the contracting business building homes. Hermus graduated from Cocoa High School in 1946. He enlisted in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in England, and later at Briggs AFB in El Paso where he met the love of his life, Norma Pearl Agnew. They were married on June 5, 1954 in Fort Worth, TX. They moved back to Florida to work with his father building homes. He was a member of Cocoa Baptist Church while living in Merritt Island. They had two children before moving to Abilene, TX in 1969. He lived and worked in Abilene until retiring from the Texas Highway Department in 1993. He was a member of S.W. Park Baptist Church and later Wylie Baptist Church. In 2008, they moved to Azle, TX, attending church at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Hermus was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John Edward Prine.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, just short of 61 years by 2 months, Norma Pearl Prine; brother, Joe Roy Prine & wife Harriett of Merritt Island, FL; daughter, Linda Russell & husband Steve of North Richland Hills, TX; son, Timothy Prine & wife Lesli of Leander, TX; 4 grandchildren, Allie, Whitney, Payton, and Karley; 2 great-grandchildren, Gage and Dylan, and many nieces and nephews.
