Our precious Lord Jesus has called Iris home to heaven on November 2, 2022, to live for eternity.
Iris was born on March 24, 1929, to Blanche and JL Sims in Desdemona, Texas. The family moved to Staff where Iris went to school at Kokomo for a couple years. Then, their dad took Iris and her sister Veda to the El Campo, Texas area in 1941.
In 1945, Iris met Steve Noska in the home of a friend. That night she met her future husband, friend and love of her life. They were married on November 2, 1946. They had their first son Dennis.
Steve was in the National Guard and was called to Korea. While he was in Korea, Iris and Dennis lived with her dad until Steve’s return home.
Iris went to Louise Baptist Church, and when the invitation was given, she went forward to accept Jesus as her Savior and her Friend.
They moved back to El Campo, where God gave them another son Dale. Iris went to work at HEB in the meat market for 10 years. She then worked as manager at the Tartan Store, The Jean Shop, and The Style Shop. Iris and Steve were active members of Memorial Baptist Church.
In 1983, Iris and Steve moved to Olden, Texas in Eastland County. They were active members of Olden Baptist Church. Iris loved home and family. She loved her garden and had flowers and plants growing both outside and inside the house. Iris loved animals, especially horses, hummingbirds and her dogs and grand dogs.
After Steve went to be with the Lord in May of 2011, Iris moved to Briar, Texas, where Dale and Juanita built a house next door to them and took care of her there. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and her son Dale was her Pastor, Friend, and Caregiver.
Iris is preceded in death by her beloved husband Steve; her firstborn son Dennis; her parents Blanche & JL Sims; her brother James Sims, Jr. and her sisters Luzell & Bob Blackwell and Alice & Carl Niles; and a great grandchild whom she is longing to see.
She is survived by her son Dale & Juanita Noska; her sister Veda & Billy Adams; her daughter-in-law Brenda Noska; her grandchildren Sherry & Cha Kardmongmee, Chris & Petra Noska, Kimberly & David Harvey, Jeff & April Noska, Jason & Megan Noska and Stefanie & Brandon Cordova; her great grandchildren Jace, Shile, Brale, Zoey, Caleb, Benjamin, Elissa, Athan, Tucker and Porter; and her many nieces & nephews.
We will celebrate her life and her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Desdemona Cemetery. A visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland before the service starting at 10:30 AM.
