EASTLAND – J.J. Finley, 77 of Eastland, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 21st at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry St., Eastland, TX from 12 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Eastland City Cemetery.
Mr. Finley was born October 18, 1943 in Ranger, TX to Jonah J. Finley, Sr. and Catherine (Drake) Finley. He graduated from Eastland High School in 1962. He owned and operated J.J. Finley Construction in Eastland for many years. He was known as having the most International Scouts in Eastland County. J.J. was a member of the International Associates. He loved to share his passion in knowledge of big equipment and everything Internationals. He would work day and night on his Internationals and loved traveling to many places to look at antiques, big equipment, tractors and internationals. He was also ready for the next big adventures in his RV and always had a Scout with him. His last dream was able to visit The Goldmine King in Jerome Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.J. and Catherine Finley, and a son, Jeff Finley.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jody Finley (Nancy) and Jon Finley (Sheryl); a daughter, Jana Cowart (Jeff); 2 sisters, Kathy Harris (J.R.), and Patricia Davis (Alan); 7 grandchildren, Will Johnson, Justin Finley, Jeremy Finley, Julie Finley, Jordan Cowart, Tyler Staggs, and Wyatt Staggs; 1 great-grandchild; and the mother of his children, Jane Finley.
