ABILENE – Jackie Lou Tucker, 80, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends at Bakker Funeral Home in Eastland Thursday from 5 until 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Tucker was born August 8, 1933 in Carbon, TX to Jack & Lona (Wyatt) Abbott. She graduated from Eastland High School and married Billy Dee Tucker on November 6, 1953 in Eastland County. They lived in several places in West Texas for many years before retiring to Carbon. Mr. Tucker preceded her in death in July, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She had a passion for quilting and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Doidge.
Survivors include a son, Billy Tucker & wife Mary of Odessa; a daughter, Barbara Doidge & husband David of Abilene; a sister, Doris Jordan & husband Don of Odessa; 3 grandchildren, Wyatt Tucker, Annee Imle & husband Chris, and Sarah Steele & husband Randy; 1 great-grandson, Tyler Tucker; and by several nieces and nephews.
