James H. “Jimmy” Barton, Passed from this life at his home in Jacksboro TX on Friday evening. Visitation was held at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5 PM. Interment will be Saturday at 1:30 PM the Guadalupe Memorial Cemetery outside of New Braunfels TX.
Jimmy was born on August 6, 1939 at Luling TX to Joe and Georgia (Holt) Barton. He was a heavy equipment operator. He met and married Nancy Lind on May 4, 1973 at Corpus Christi TX. He and Nancy operated Barton Services, with their son Neil, until his retirement.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his wife Nancy of the home, 3 sons: Joe Barton of Montgomery TX, Ken Lenard of Boerne TX and Neil Barton of Jacksboro TX. 1 Daughter, Kimmy Gross of Seguin TX. 1 Sister Joyce Coleman Walls of Eastland TX., 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was also dearly loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
