James Richard Crabb, 69, of Eastland, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 in Eastland. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake Leon Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
James was born November 9, 1943 in Coleman, TX to Joseph Richard and Lucille (Barker) Crabb. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Barbara Elaine Kitchens on March 18, 1967 in Abernathy, TX. He was a repairman at a natural gas plant. He coached Little League for 12 years, enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was an honorary member of the Goldsmith Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to square dance and do wood working. He was a member of the Lake Leon Baptist Church where he served on the building committee.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Crabb of Eastland; 3 sons, David Crabb of Austin, Brett Crabb of Denver, and Joel Crabb and his wife Stacey of San Antonio; 2 sisters, Maxine Tarver of Rising Star and JoAnn Owens of Coleman; 6 grandchildren, Rachel, Justin, Dillon, Jarred, Emma and Joseph; extended Kitchens' family and Lake Leon Baptist Church family.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Leon Baptist Church Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
