James (Ronnie) Hazelwood, 65, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. James was born April 15, 1948 to Woodrow and Minnie (Price) Hazelwood, the third of four children. He graduated from Abilene High School and later retired from FEDEX to begin a new career of "living a life worth living." He was never one to have idle hands, always finding a new project or task to attend to. If he could incorporate a life lesson in a simple daily task, you could guarantee you were going to learn it. He had many loves in his life; from people, to hobbies, to certain values he aspired to instill in his children and grandchildren. He was a man very much loved.
James was preceded in death by his Father, Woodrow Hazelwood, and his Mother Minnie (Price) Hazelwood. He is survived by his common law wife, Sharon Montgomery; two brothers, Vernon Tunnel of Abilene and Dennis Hazelwood of Eastland; one sister, Joyce Williams of Houston; one son, Thomas W. Hazelwood of Sweetwater; five daughters, Rhonda Schroeder and husband Russell of Clyde, Colleena Rodriquez and husband Eddie of Abilene, Shiryl Satterfield and husband Richard (children Leela and Lia) of Cisco, Amber Murray of Abilene, and Rosemary Rodriguez of Abilene; four step-daughters, Kristina Rheingans and husband Kris of St Roberts, Missouri, Valerie D. Thomas and husband Jack of Abilene, Virginia Martin and husband Jack of Breckenridge, and Penny Prater and husband John of Albany; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
