James Harrison (Stug) McQueary passed from this life Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 4:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Orsini officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery.
James was born February 8, 1936 in Gordon to G.D and Ruby May (Smith) McQueary. He graduated from Gordon High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He married Lora Grabin on September 5, 1955 at the Presbyterian Church in Strawn. He loved football games, spending time with family and good preaching.
James is survived by his wife, Lora; 2 daughters, Kay Striz and husband David and Peggy McQueary; 1 brother, Donald Ray McQueary; 1 sister, Faye June McKee; 4 grandchildren, Melanie Haney, Angel Beth Hammond, Kaitlyn and Kelsi Striz; 9 great-grandchildren, Jared, Jordyn, Jett, Jenny, Madison, Landon, Charlie, Peyton and Kloe.
