James Orville Rexroat was born in Gordon, Texas on August 31, 1944 and attended the Gordon School until the family moved to North Richland Hills. He graduated from Richland High School in 1962. He worked many years for Menasco Aerospace, until he accepted a position as a Business Representative for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District Lodge 776. He retired in January 2007 and returned to his ranch in Palo Pinto County where he enjoyed raising cattle. He owned and operated the TRIO CLUB in Mingus Texas for over fifteen years and loved the business, especially working with the bands and entertainers. He was an avid fan of both the Fort Worth and Houston Rodeos and traveled numerous times with Aaron Jury (his closest friend) to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo. James was a familiar face in the Fort Worth Stockyards. He is survived by one sister, Doris Rexroat Sizemore of Granbury, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many Rexroat and Mayo cousins; his best friend, Aaron Jury; as well as a large host of friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy in 1996, his parents Darrell and Wilna, and three siblings Robert, Maureen, and Edwin. A celebration of his life/graveside service under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn will be held at New Gordon Cemetery on Tuesday, March 19 at 1:30 PM. After the service, friends and family will gather at New York Hill to visit.
