James Patton Short

James Patton Short, 58 of Mingus, passed away Sunday September 17, 2023 in Ft. Worth. Services will be held at 11 am Friday at the First Baptist Church in Strawn with Eric Nowak officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
James was born August 28, 1965 in Tazewell, Tennessee to William Patton and Verna (Brooks) Short. He married Kim Pugh on November 9, 1995 at the First Baptist Church in Strawn. He worked in Production for Texas Building Products for 27 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen, Barbara, and Becky.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kim Short; a son, Wesley Short and his wife Mia; a daughter, Rebecca Short and Carlos Villaneuva; 2 brothers, Ronnie Short and his wife Sara, and Bobby McGee and his wife Kim; and his granddaughter, Lillie Villaneuva.
