James H. (Jimmy) Veal, age 57, formerly of Ranger, TX, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 in Kingwood, TX. Services for Jimmy will be at 5 pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home, 211 Pine St, Ranger, TX. Burial will be at the Alameda Cemetery.
James Howard Veal was born October 31, 1960 in Ranger, TX to Howard Wallace (Jack) and Launette Shook Veal. He was a graduate of Ranger High School and Tarleton State University where he earned a BA in English and Business. While still in Eastland County he served as Justice of the Peace from 1984 – 1986.
His great loves in life were the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals, along with golf. Because of his love of golf Jimmy worked as a golf course supervisor for several golf courses with the last being the Inwood Forest Golf Club in Houston, TX and received a Master’s in Turf Grass Management.
Jimmy’s other loves includes his family; wife, Ilo Dowell Veal whom he married August 7, 1992 in Humble, Texas; sons, Ryan Veal and Troy Veal; brother, Donny Veal and wife Linda; sister, Debbie Taylor and husband Lloyd; granddaughters, Ariel (BB) Veal and Delilah Veal; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jimmy was a joker and loved a good laugh. Friends describe him as having a quick and rather sarcastic wit. He always lived life to the fullest all the way to the end. He will be missed.
