Janelda Rudene Elkins

GORDON – Janelda Rudene Elkins, 85 of Gordon, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2022, in Weatherford. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn on Monday, Dec. 26th from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Gordon. Burial will follow in the New Gordon Cemetery.
Rudene was born June 3, 1937, in Holliday, Tx to Ralph and Nettie (Chipman) Finch. She graduated from Gordon High School. She married Loyd Joe Elkins on June 2, 1956, at First Baptist Church in Gordon where she was a devoted, lifetime member. She was a loyal employee of fifty-one years at First National Bank of Gordon. She was an avid supporter of her children, grandkids and many others in all academic and sports activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd, on Nov. 2, 2007.
Survivors include children, Joe Elkins Jr. and wife, Armenda of Springtown, Jan Dumith and Jim Elkins and wife Kim of Gordon; grandchildren, Hannah Adams and husband Tye, Brandon Elkins and wife Rachel, Whitney Holland and husband Clay, Kayla Elkins and Amber Everitt and husband Casey along with eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
