Janie Marie Seabourn passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the age of 72. She was born September 9, 1947, the sixth child of Elnos and Roxie Lee Hensley in Eastland, Texas. Janie married Johnny Seabourn on June 10, 1972. Janie is survived by her husband Johnny, son Barry Seabourn of Lubbock, Texas; son Bert Seabourn (wife Cindy) of Clyde, Texas; and Tracy Seabourn Weikel (husband Larry) of Cisco, Texas; 21 grandchildren – Somer Seabourn, Beau Seabourn (wife Emma), Alicia Hodge (husband Josh), Jerika Jones (husband David), KaSarah Morgan (husband Chris), Jon Seabourn, Samantha Seabourn, Tyler Seabourn, Tanner Seabourn, Eli Williamson, Mikey Seabourn, Patrick Seabourn, James Weikel (wife Tommi Sue), Whitney Weikel, Kaylee Weikel, Karee Weikel; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters – Cora Franklin, John Hensley, Modell Daniel, Clayton Hensley (wife Dianne), Lavern Porterfield (husband Jim) and Joan Hallmark (husband James); numerous nieces and nephews and friends she chose as family. Janie is preceded in death by her parents Elnos Hensley and Roxie Lee Hensley and son Ronnie Seabourn.
Janie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Janie made a lasting impact on the lives of everyone she knew. She had a generous spirit and was always willing to make sacrifices for those she loved, no questions asked. To say Janie never met a stranger is an understatement. Janie made everyone feel like family whether she knew them her whole life or five minutes. The world lost a woman who knew the true meaning of love when we lost Janie Seabourn.
Funeral services for Janie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the Daugherty Street Church of Christ, 309 S. Daugherty Ave., Eastland, Texas. Due to Covid-19, the church will live stream the service on the church Facebook page for those who choose to attend remotely. Graveside service will follow at the Corinth Cemetery in Cisco, Texas.
Visitation will be held between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry St., Eastland, Texas.
