Jaye C. Jarrett

November 30, 1938 — February 5, 2018

Jaye C. Jarrett, 79, entered our Lord’s eternal rest on February 5, 2018 in San Antonio. Born November 30, 1938 in Ranger, Texas to John Hubert and Folia Mae (Morton) Jarrett, he graduated from Eastland HS in 1957. He was the chief strategist for the infamous EHS “Goat Caper” of 1955. He graduated from UT Austin in 1962 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. His engineering career began in aerospace for NASA then design with Oilwell Supply. After living in Austin, Houston, Dallas and Baton Rouge, La, he moved to San Antonio in 1970 where he settled. He entered the financial profession, eventually forming his own firm, and remained there until retirement. He joined Coker UMC. In 1997, God called him to receive Jesus as his Savior and Lord. He enjoyed family, humor and especially playing practical jokes, golfing, fishing, reading, creative writing, and art. He especially enjoyed hunting with his family and particularly, with Juanita and Milton Fullen, James Fullen, and all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Patricia Jarrett; daughter, Tami Plummer and husband, Jim; daughter, Lisa Richter and husband, Kris; son, John Jarrett; grandchildren: Jarrett and Kristina Richter; brother-in-law, James Fullen; nephew, Tracy Fullen and wife, Kimberly and daughters: Kandra and Taylar Fullen; niece, Kelleye Fullen Stuart and husband, Gary and sons: Zachry and Grayson Stuart; and cousins: Tommy Beck and wife, Maria, Steve Beck, Nancy Beck Humphries, Amy Gann King and husband, Alan, Helen Morton Voyles and husband, Bill, Allen Morton and wife, Carol, Tobe Morton and wife, Diane, Raliegh Morton, David Jarrett and wife, Carol and Mark Jarrett. A memorial service will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11 am at Coker United Methodist Church, 231 East North Loop Road, San Antonio, Texas. A PUBLIC GRAVESIDE SERVICE WILL BE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2018 AT 11 AM AT THE EASTLAND CITY CEMETARY IN EASTLAND, TEXAS. There will be a reception following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Coker United Methodist Church.
