Jerry Wharton

- Jerry V. Wharton passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2013. Jerry was born September 6, 1937 to Joel Ewing Wharton and Dorothy Dodd Wharton in Ranger, Texas. He was a 1956 graduate of Ranger High School where he played football. Jerry also played football one year at Kilgore Jr. College in Kilgore, Texas. He worked and retired after 30 years from LTV in Grand Prairie, TX. in the sheet metal department. Jerry was an avid hunter and loved to fish.
He is survived by four daughters, Kim Garland and husband Kent of Strawn, Jerri Lynn Guest and husband Jimmy of Strawn, Terri Price and husband Jeff of Dallas, and Farrah Moser and husband Shane of Weatherford. He is also survived by one brother, David Wharton and wife Janis of Lake Dallas, one sister, Cathy Kelley of Brackerville, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Sammie Wharton, half-sister Cindy Kelly and half-brother Tim Kelly.
Jerry requested he be cremated and a private family memorial be held at a later date.
