Jessie Modell Daniel

Jessie Modell Daniel, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Godley, Texas on June 22, 2021.
She was born March 3, 1930 to Elnos and Roxie Lee Hensley in Eastland County. She attended school in Morton Valley and Eastland, Texas. She eloped and married her husband, John L. Daniel in March of 1946. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Modell worked for over 30 years for House of Webster Ceramics. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, playing slot machines and loved spending time with her siblings playing dominoes.
She was a loving and caring mother to 5 children; John Daniel and wife Debra of Eastland, LWanda Burkhaulter and husband Don of Godley, Cathy Smith and husband Larry of Brownwood, Jim Daniel and wife Elaine of Wolfforth, and Gary Daniel of Eastland. She was a grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She had a host of nieces and nephews.
She is survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; Cora Franklin of Ranger, Texas, John Hensley of Kingwood, Texas, Clayton Hensley of Waco, Texas, Laverne Porterfield of Hope, Arkansas and Joan Hallmark of North Richland Hills, Texas. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Janie Seaborn of Eastland, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland at 10 a.m. Friday. Graveside services will be at noon Friday at Eastland City Cemetery with Graham Allen officiating. Pallbearers will be her 6 grandsons, Sean Daniel, Lynn Smith, Daryl Smith, Randy Burkhaulter, Kevin Smith and Paul Burkhaulter.
