Jessie Lee Millican, age 97, passed peacefully from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 20, 2017 after a long stay in a Ft. Worth Hospital. Services for Jessie will be 2 pm Sunday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland, TX 76448. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Saturday also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Eastland City Cemetery.
Jessie was born March 7, 1920 in Whitney, TX to Ezekiel Alexander and Gracey Lee Ward Hamilton and was one of 10 children. She spent most of her growing up years in Eastland and worked as a Machine Operator for Vasserette Corp before retiring after 20 years in 1977. Retirement did not slow her down. Jessie then opened Gifts and More beside her home and sold gifts and more for another 30 years. Jessie enjoyed crafts of all kinds and loved working with her hands. She was a talented seamstress and quilter and also did ceramics on the side. Jessie was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was Pentacostal and attended several different churches in the area.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son Dan Millican of Rockport, her 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her son, David Millican and his wife Jo of Freeport, TX, two grandsons; Mike Millican and Steve Millican and two great-granddaughters; Alex Millican and Lilly Millican.
