Jimmy Ray Little

November 12, 1935 — May 7, 2018

Jimmy Ray Little, age 82, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 7, 2018, at his home. Services for Jimmy will be 2 pm Wednesday May 9, 2018, at Edwards Funeral Home at 411 S. Mulberry in Eastland. Family and friends will gather from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Eastland City Cemetery.
Jimmy was born November 12, 1935, in the Kokomo community to John L. and Mamie Hale Little. He attended school in Alameda until it closed, then Flatwood until it closed, and then attended Carbon schools. He was a lifelong Rancher.
He also spent 45 years working in the ceramic business, starting out working for Horton Pottery, then Romco Pottery, and then House of Webster Ceramics in Eastland as the business manager working beside his wife Verna Lee Little. Jimmy married Verna Lee Garrett December 19, 1953, in Kokomo, and she was by his side for 61 years until her death in 2015.
Jimmy was an active member of the Kokomo Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Song Director, and a Sunday School Teacher. He was baptized at the Staff Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Ray Neal Little and wife Melissa of Eastland, their daughter Emily Little (Jim Coley) and her daughter (Jimmy’s precious great-granddaughter) Kourtney Michelle; daughter Nelda Fails of Arlington and her sons Cody Fails (Courtney Butts) and Jarad Fails (Heather Collie); and son James Little and wife Jill of Eastland and their daughters Ashley and Breckley Little. Jimmy is also survived by a brother Charles Little and his wife Carolyn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife Verna Lee; sister Ima Boles; brother Anson Little; brothers and sisters-in law Earl and Betty Little and Bobby and Mary Jane Little; and a dear sister-in-law Lavelle Hallmark.
A special mention to his brother-in-law Jerry Hallmark of San Angelo and Jimmy’s best friend Glen and Shirley Clement of Gorman.

Jimmy was known for his love of music and he always ended the 5th Sunday Singing at his church with “I Know a Man Who Can” with his favorite accompanist, Wynell Brown.
