Joann Stiffler

JoAnn Stiffler (Grabin) died peacefully of complications from Alzheimer’s disease on June 3, 2021 in Midlothian, Texas at the age of 81.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Stiffler of Arlington; children, Beverly Stiffler Harris (Brent) of Midlothian, and Katherine Stiffler Harper (Fred) of Weatherford; grandchildren, Clinton Harris (Erin), Candace Harper Mees (Chad), Jaqueline Harper Glazner (Brandon), Michael Harris, Matthew Harper (Kayla), and Ella Harper; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Mildred Grabin of Strawn and her aunt Eloise Cross of Arlington.
JoAnn was born on April 18, 1940 in Strawn, Texas to Mildred Estelle Roach. She graduated from Strawn High School in 1958. She married Eddie Stiffler on December 22, 1957 and later moved to Arlington, Texas. JoAnn worked for Montgomery Wards, the Arlington Daily News (secretary/bookkeeper), International Wildlife Park (river boat helmsman), and Sears (bookkeeper/credit dept) but her most rewarding jobs were being a housewife and mother.
JoAnn volunteered for several organizations. She was a leader in Campfire Girls where she loved to take her group to Camp El Tesoro for the weekend. She taught cooking and sewing classes for the Arlington 4H Club and served as President for the Arlington Home Demonstration Club. She loved plants and was always working with them and sharing with others. She also loved to cook, sew, entertain and go camping.
A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 with the visitation preceding at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home, 215 E Housley, Strawn, Texas. Pastor Michael Orsini will officiate the ceremony. Pallbearers are Brent Harris, Clinton Harris, Michael Harris, Fred Harper, Matthew Harper, and Chad Mees.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Serene Meadows Hospice-Brigitt Graves, Encompass Hospice-Bani, Stephanie, Paul, Kerri, Myra, Erica, and most recently Harbor Hospice-Tish, Jason, Jim, and Brandy for their care and dedication over the past 5 years.
