Joe Salazar, 62, of Eastland passed away April 11, 2014.
Joe Salazar was born in Lamesa, TX on June 20, 1951. His mother was Andrea Canarillo and his father was Jose Perez Salazar. Joe had ten siblings, Peter Salazar, Hopie Chavez, Paula Albarron, Daniel Salazar, Rosie Zuniga, Susie Sierra, Zonisacio Salazar, Tommy Salazar, Rita Salas, and Tony Salazar. In his early years, he fathered five children Gina, Jennifer, Michelle, Peter, and Paul. Then in 1991, he married Cheryl Ann Rucker in San Angelo, TX. After devoting his life to Christianity Joe had two more kids, Ashley Danielle Salazar and Andrea Nichole Salazar.
He was a hard worker before he started getting ill. He worked 15 years at EBBA Iron, he worked at a ranch, and he was a Sunday School Supervisor. He was completely devoted to his family and his home church, which was the Church of God. Joe loved to ride motorcycles, to make people laugh, and he loved when he had his long ponytail. He was a good man and he was as strong as anyone can be. He will be missed by many people, because we all loved him more than anything. Joe was an inspiration to us all, because he taught us to never give up. We know he’s watching us and protecting us. He will live on in our hearts forever.
Although no words can give him the praise he deserves, we hope this comes close. You taught us the love of a father and the love of a husband. You taught us to be strong when we were weak. Most importantly you taught us to never forget these moments in life. WE LOVE YOU!!
