John W. (Jack) Christopher

John W. (Jack) Christopher, 87, of Eastland, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Eastland. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home Friday evening, June 20th, from 4 until 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Christopher was born on March 30, 1927 in Charleston, West Virginia to Anthony D. & Ruth (Foley) Christopher. He received a BA from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. He married Sarah Ruf on March 25, 1951 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the Johns Manville Corporation, he worked in the real estate business in Colorado before moving to Eastland, TX. He was an avid golfer, had enjoyed bowling in the past, and loved watching the Texas Rangers as well as old westerns on television. He was preceded in death by a son, John (Jay) Christopher, Jr; and a brother, Anthony D, Christopher, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Christopher of Eastland; 2 daughters, Kelly Swift & husband Glenn of Eastland and their family, and Terry Morris & husband Butch of DeLeon and their family; 2 grandchildren, Brett Lister & wife Sidnee of Eastland; and Craig Lister & wife Sarah of Midland; 1 great-grandson, Braxton of Eastland; and sister-in-law, Wanda Christopher of West Virginia.5
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to City of Eastland Dog Pound, 416 S. Seaman St, Eastland, TX 76448 or to the Solid Rock Camps, 559 C.R. 570A, Eastland, TX 76448.
