John H. Wood

John H. Wood, 70, passed away May 31, 2015 in Fort Worth. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
John was born January 20, 1945 in Gladewater, Texas to John Malloy Wood and Frances (Travathan) Wood. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and was a Funeral Director for Killingsworth Funeral Home in Ranger for many years. He loved to recite poetry as well as write his own. John was a wonderful dancer and a motorcycle and gun enthusiast, as well as being an ordained minister. He later was a construction superintendent for Eagle Construction. He had a bright personality and loved being around his family and friends. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include a son, Mike Wood & wife Kaymee; a daughter, Meggan Hargrave & husband Ken; two sisters, Jackie Pickering, and Jean Michener; seven grandchildren, Hudson Wood, Micah Hargrave, Hannah Hargrave, Grant Wood, Thomas Hargrave, Lorali Wood, and Daniel Hargrave.
Memorial donations in John’s name may be made to the American Heart Association.
