Johnnie Thommas Hornback, 74 of Eastland went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home. His services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 16th at the Eastland City Cemetery Pavilion and visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Monday, July 15th at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Johnnie was born January 16, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas to Joseph Harvey Hornback and Imogene Kathleen (Hull) Hornback. He married Janie Hobbs on September 29th 1989 in Ranger, Texas and together they had a wonderful 30 years together, creating memories of a lifetime. Johnnie a member of the Lions Club in Ranger and took pride in being on the Ranger and Gordon Fire Department’s as an EMS and volunteered. Johnnie was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was an avid self-employed welder. His lifetime was full of helping build tons of architecture as a welder, but he would make sure he had plenty of off time to play in the outdoors to hunt and fish or spend time with his family; he was also well known for his ability to not be beat in a game of pool and he loved the game.
Johnnie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janie Hornback; sons, John Hornback, Lee Hornback, Tony Stephenson, Chad Stephenson; daughters, Crissy Freeman, Phebe Neal, and Lisa Schwartz; sister, Evelyn Pullin; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
