Johnny Cantwell

Johnny Frank Cantwell, age 69, passed away at his home on August 13, 2020. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, peepaw, and friend.

Johnny was born in Ranger, Texas to Willie Odell Cantwell and Delma Bargley. He graduated from Ranger High School in 1969, where he played football and participated in FFA.

Johnny married Judy Mathews and together they raised their two sons: Clinton and Clayton, in Ranger, TX. They later divorced.

Johnny spent his life as a heavy equipment operator, farming peanuts, and loved spending time with the family vacationing in Colorado.

Johnny is survived by his two sons: Clinton and wife Jennifer Cantwell, and Clayton Cantwell; two grandsons: Ross Cantwell and Ty Cantwell; his brother Willie and wife Wilma Cantwell; his sister Nancy and husband Horst Krause; and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny is proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Jenny Patton.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Edwards Funeral Home at 211 Pine Street, Ranger, TX. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm at the Bullock Cemetery at FM 717.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ranger Volunteer Fire Department at 500 Loop 254 East, Ranger, TX 76470.
