Joseph Aubrey Brown Jr.

September 30, 1935 — March 28, 2023

Joseph Aubrey Brown Jr. died in his sleep on March 28, 2023 at his home in Arlington Texas. He was born September 30, 1935, in Olden Texas the son of Joseph Aubrey Brown Sr. and Thelma (Young) Brown. He graduated from Eastland High School Class of 1953 and from Cisco Jr. College with a business degree. Following graduation, he served in the US Army National Guard as a tank gunner and was posted at Fort Knox Kentucky. He moved from Eastland to Odessa, Texas in 1960 where he met Doris Dennis at the Eisenhower Church of Christ. They married June 10, 1960 and celebrated 63 years of marriage in June of 2022. Joe worked for Texas Electric Service Company (TXU) for 32 years retiring in 1992. Joe loved to play tennis and played competitively, finishing at the top of a “B” Ladder in the Arlington Tennis Association.
Joe loved traveling with his wife and close friends Max and Fran Mcfatridge. They took as many as 19 trips to Hawaii to enjoy the beauty and eat breakfast at “The Tasty Crust”. Joe was a big sports fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys attending 3 Superbowl games. He also loved the Texas Longhorns. Breakfast was his favorite meal so he could always be found by the fireplace at La Madeleine having some eggs, tomatoes and coffee ... and as always, “the first sip is always the best.” He was a faithful Christian and attended Randol Mill Church of Christ which later became North Davis Church of Christ for a total 63 years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Pat and Audrey. Surviving in addition to his wife Doris (Dennis) Brown, are his sons Larry and his wife Robin of Salado, and Jeff and his wife Cathy of Haltom City, grandsons Eric Brown, Christopher Brown, granddaughters Skyla Runnerstrom, Caitlin Lange, and Erin Cruz, great grandsons Asher Brown, Levi Brown, Jessie Brown, Jordan Brown, Henry Lange and great granddaughters Freya Runnerstrom, and Zoey Brown.
