Joy Honea

Joy Lovelle Honea, age 85, passed away on February 27, 2013 in Ft. Worth. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 1st at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX under the direction of the Bakker Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Bakker Funeral Home. Joy Lovelle Tanner Honea was born on September 23, 1927 to Alvin and Ufama (Harmon) Tanner in Erath County, TX. She married Wilburn "Red" Honea on December 13, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico. She retired from the Amarillo Ind. School District as their cafeteria manager. She is survived by her son Ben Honea of Amarillo; her daughter Sherry Canfield of Haltom City; brothers, A.J. Tanner of Ranger, W.A. (Bill) Tanner of Dumas; sister Barbara Baggett of Ft. Worth, and preceded in death by her sister, Sue Merchant. Lovelle has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
