EASTLAND – Joyce Dean Phillips, 60, of Eastland, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Fort Worth. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Joyce was born on November 30, 1953 in Dermott, Arkansas to O.C. Howerton and Maybell Hardin Howerton. She was a truck driver for many years in all 48 states as well as Canada. Before her death Joyce developed an appreciation and love for butterflies and what they represent while at Universal Hospice.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Fred Phillips; 3 children, Peggy Hardin and her husband Dalton, Shirley Livingston and her husband Charlie, and Kenneth Phillips and his wife Malissa; grandchildren, Ashley McPherson, Kayleigh Hardin, Chase Livingston, Erin Phillips, Shellbie Phillips, and Misty Hardin; great-grandchildren, Lyla Sanders, and Skylynne Brown.
Joyce’s family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at Universal Hospice in Ft. Worth for the excellent care they provided.
