Julia Lopez

Julia Lopez, age 90, went to be with the Lord and her husband on Thursday, February 6, 2020. A visitation/rosary will be held 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday evening at Edwards Funeral Home Strawn, Texas. The service for Julia will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church Strawn, Texas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Julia Lopez was born January 7, 1930 in Edinburg, Texas to Ramon Garcia and Magdalena Hernandez. She was a housewife, mother, and grandmother, who loved to cook, listen to music on the radio, work in the yard caring for her flowers, and caring for her grandchildren. Moving with her husband Porifiro to Strawn in 1957, being a part of the Strawn community for 63 years.
Julia is survived by sons, Juan Lopez, David Lopez, and Tomas Lopez; daughters, Gloria Olvera, Dora Berumen, Oralia Casanova, Sylvia Espinosa, Maria Parsons, and Esmeralda Martinez; 38 grandchildren; and 104 great grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Porifiro; parents, Raymon and Magdalena; brothers, Primitivo, Pancho, Jose, and Lupe Garcia; and sisters, Hilaria Espinosa, Encarnacion Garcia, and Marcela Martinez.
