Keith Mcdonald

Keith E. McDonald, beloved father, teacher and friend, died Monday, August 12, 2013 in Stephenville, Texas. Born September 28, 1927 at his parents' home in Nolan County, Texas, he attended school in Nolan/Divide and served in the Army Air Corps during the last days of World War II.

He married Margaret Kelly McDonald, December 17, 1949, in New Mexico. They reared four daughters on their Stephens County farm near Ranger, Texas. He earned degrees from Texas Tech and Texas A&M, ranched, and taught Agriculture at Ballinger, Eola, Desdemona and Strawn. Known as "Mr. Mac," he influenced many students and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ann Lee (McLaughlin) McDonald and his brothers Weldon Earl and Morris McDonald, and by his beloved wife, Margaret in 2004.

He is survived by his daughters Kelly Benbrook (Dave) of Arlington, Texas; Sally Hebner (Mike) of Abilene, Texas; Lili Knight (Mike) of Stephenville, Texas; and Amy McDonald of Dublin, Texas. He was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. August 16, 2013 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Ranger, Texas with interment to follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Chapel in Strawn, Texas. He will be lying in state until 4:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Chapel in Ranger, prior to the visitation.
