Lance Jamin Buchanan, 58, passed away on January 3, 2024 at Medical City Arlington, Texas.
Lance was born September 3, 1965 in El Paso, Texas to Donald Gene Buchanan (deceased) and Judy Ann Ballinger Buchanan. He grew up in the Shields/Dighton, Kansas area. He finished high school at Graford, Texas after the family moved to Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas in 1983. Lance received his A&P certificate from Texas Aero Tech in Dallas, Texas.
Lance was a Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter, a Private Pilot Airplane and A&P/AI Mechanic. Lance was also a skydiver.
Lance’s career consisted of: Mechanic for Ward Helicopters, Vivian, LA. Pilot/Mechanic for Gulf Helicopters, St. Elmo, AL. Director of Maintenance/Pilot for Vortex Helicopters, Gulfport, Miss. Quality Assurance Inspector at Kansas City Aviation, Olathe, KS. Lead Mechanic for East Coast Aviation, Bedford, Mass. Lead Mechanic for Tex-Air Helicopter, Houston, TX. Aircraft Mechanic at Port City Aircraft Repair, Portsmouth, NH. Helicopter Mechanic for Rogers Helicopters, Fresno, CA. stationed at Mesa Verde, CO for the fire seasons.
Lance is survived by children: Ryan Buchanan and Emma Buchanan. Four grandchildren. Mother: Judy Buchanan. Siblings: Wade and Teresa Buchanan, Elizabeth and Hank Burnett, and Orin and Amy Buchanan.
Memorial service to be held 10am, March 30, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Gordon, TX.
