Lillian Burliene Shafer

Lillian Burliene Shafer, age 89, passed from this life Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Eastland. A graveside service for Lillian will be 2 pm Thursday, January 7th at the Nimrod Cemetery in Eastland County. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
Lillian Burliene was born March 15, 1926 in Nimrod, TX to Oscar and Lillian (Ashabranner) Pierce. She was a lifelong resident to Eastland and a member of the Church of Christ. Lillian Burliene worked for Dr. Treadwell for 20 years.
Lillian Burliene is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands; Ruben “Peter” Marsh of 30 years and Fred Shafer of 9 years, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and several great nephews and nieces including; Jimmy and Larry Pierce.
She is survived by two nephews: Joe Pierce and wife Vicki of Morton Valley, and Roy Notgrass and wife Shirley of Eastland, numerous great nephews and nieces including; Dwayne Pierce and wife Dee of Houston, Stephen Pierce and wife Shannon of Abilene, Tammy Ledbetter and husband Chris of Fort Worth, Tracy Sweet of Fort Worth, Jamie Arnold and husband Scotty of Eastland, and Shane Pierce and wife Carrie of Eastland, along with other great nephews and nieces.
