Lloyd Winston Armstrong, 80, of Eastland went to be with his Heavenly Father Friday, July 19, 2013. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Eastland with Dr. Shawn Brewer officiating. Burial followed in the Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home
Lloyd was born September 4, 1932 in Tulsa, OK to J.C. and Clyde Armstrong. He was a graduate of Plainview High School in Plainview, TX. Lloyd was drafted into the US Army in 1955 and served 2 yrs. He married the love of his life, Emma Jean Walker, March 11, 1961 in Santo, TX. He was a resident of Eastland for 50+ years.
Lloyd worked for VC Menus in Eastland for 33 yrs. He loved photography and owned his own photography studio for many years: It was a rare sight to see Lloyd without his camera around his neck. He continued to work for Eastland Telegram off and on after retirement.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 51 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Rita Nell Leroy and her husband John of Avery, TX, and Kay Stiles and her husband Randy of Celina, TX. Three Grandchildren, Amber Tupin, Rita Dickson and Brandon Stiles, three step-grandchildren, Shanna, Casey, and Nathan Leroy and two great- grandchildren, Riley and Rustin Tupin.
Lloyd was a loving husband and father and will be missed by his family and an abundance of close friends.
