Lora Faye O’Dell, 95 of Eastland, passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 in Eastland. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. O’Dell was born November 4, 1920 in Eastland County to Martin Edward McCullough and Lena Pearl Fisher. She was a seamstress, then supervisor for Williamson Dickie’s. She then worked for General Dynamics for 2 ½ years, during WWII, where she played on their softball team. She married Marcus O’Dell on August 28, 1998. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was Sunday School Superintendent. She was an awesome cook, especially turkey and dressing. She loved sports. Her favorite teams were the Ranger, Cowboys and Mavericks. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Estes and Clarence McCullough; and 3 sisters, her twin, Nora McWhorter, Opal Harty, and Lola May Buck.
Survivors include her husband, Marcus O’Dell of Eastland; a step-son, Mike O’Dell of Aransas Pass; a daughter, Jan Thomas of Eastland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
