Our precious Mom/Grandma/Grammer/Gram, Louise Allene Todd Coupland, passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the age of 92.
Allene was born to Eula Adell Holder Todd and Leslie Lee (Pete) Todd on Jan 4, 1931 in Lone Camp, Texas (Palo Pinto County) and passed away within ½ mile of her birth place. She married James Robert (Bob) Coupland on December 31, 1954 and they had four children. At the age of 45, with almost all of her children out of high school, she and her husband, Bob, moved from Lomax (La Porte), Texas to Lone Camp where she decided she was going to paint. She became a well-known artist and was eventually even inducted into the Texas China Painters Hall of Fame. Allene was also a 31-year kidney cancer survivor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul Lee Todd and Elvis Glenn Todd; granddaughter, Tiffany Coupland; and son-in-law, Larry O’Neil. Survivors include her children, Gary Coupland (Vicki), Leslie Carnahan, Jo Lynn O’Neil, and Larry Coupland (Carla); Grandchildren Michael Carnahan (Cammie), Jacey Mattison (Jake), Jessica Spencer, Crystal Lee (Sam), Robert O’Neil, and Tanner Coupland (Haley). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan 20, 2023 from 6-8pm at Lone Camp Baptist Church and a celebration of her life will be at the same location on Saturday, Jan 21, 2023 at 10am. Graveside services will immediately follow at New Hope Cemetery in Lone Camp.
