Lyndell Faye Cockburn

Lyndell Faye Cockburn, a beloved member of the Ranger community, passed away on May 28, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Ranger, Texas, on October 18, 1946, Lyndell was a woman of many talents and accomplishments, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Lyndell displayed her musical abilities as a talented piano player and former professional singer. She shared her love for music and faith as a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Ranger, where she found solace and community. Her spirit of dedication and passion extended beyond her musical pursuits as she served as an Administrative Assistant in the education industry at Ranger College.

Lyndell's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She leaves behind her loving spouse, Jim Cockburn of Ranger, and their three sons, Michael Cockburn of Eastland, Chris Cockburn of Florida, and Sean Cockburn (Jo) of Liberty Hill, whom she cherished dearly. Her presence will be deeply missed by her siblings, Jack Noth (Sandra) of Sherman, Mike Noth (Brenda) of Ranger, and Eilene Squiers of Eastland, as well as her 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her professional and familial roles, Lyndell shared her musical talents in various capacities. She was a former member of Rangegrass, a bluegrass band that brought joy to audiences, and participated in stage shows with Tony Douglas and Alan Arnold, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances.

A woman of unwavering faith and dedication, Lyndell Cockburn's influence will be remembered for years to come. Her life serves as a testament to the power of music, family, faith, and community in shaping a meaningful life.

Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Lyndell's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Ranger with Pastors Robby Neyland and Ronny Guess officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the funeral home.

Lyndell was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Betty Noth, and a daughter, Teresa Trousdale.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Trousdale, Colby Cockburn, Bailey Roseburn, Josh Wilson, Meaghan Hall, Crystal Griffin, and Marissa Trousdale.
