Lynn Murray

EASTLAND – Lynn Murray, 82 of Eastland, passed away Sunday January 8, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13th at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry St, Eastland, Tx.
Wilma was born April 13, 1940 in Ada, OK to Earl Collins and Alpha Naomi Beatty Collins. She graduated from Lovington High School, Lovington, NM. She married Aubrey Leon Murray on July 18, 1958 in Lovington. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2008.
Throughout the years Lynn worked for GE, Ryan Aeronautical, a law firm, and was an administrative assistant. The job she loved and was most proud of was being Eastland’s city secretary from 1989-1993.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Audrie Karel Riley, Tracie Lynn Purdy, and Sydnie Ruth Hodge; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Davenport, Chase & Jenni Riley, Shelbi & Ronnie Beckett, Jarred Purdy, Adam & Alli Riley, and Brittany & Cory Smith; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Jack, Rett, Colton, Carson, Logan, Zach, Brooklyn, and Sonny.
Special acknowledgement goes to her bestie, Carole Jean Shirey and, of course, Willie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lynn’s name may be made to St. Jude’s or to the American Cancer Society.
