EASTLAND – Margaret Ann Jordan Powers, age 93, passed peacefully on July 27, 2014 at the Valley View Health Care Center in Eastland, Texas.
Margaret was born May 27, 1921 in Eastland, the daughter of J.Y. and Bertha Jordan. August of 1938, in Rising Star, Texas, Margaret married the love of her life J.R. Powers. They were married one month shy of 63 years before J.R. passed in July of 2001. They raised three beautiful children in Monahans, Texas. A wonderful mother and homemaker, Margaret was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, they were he life. Once J.R. retired, they moved back to Eastland near family and many friends. She was a member of Daugherty Street Church of Christ in Eastland, Texas.
Margaret is survived by three brothers and two sisters. Tom Jordan of Hondo, TX; Bill Jordan and wife Rita of Eastland, TX; Landon Jordan of Midland, TX; Mary Maize of Cherryville, Missouri; and Betty Webb and husband Bob of Ovalo, TX.
Also survived by her son, Bobby Powers and wife Mary Jane of Mansfield, TX; daughter, Linda Sims and Errol Slaton of Bandera, TX; and daughter, Annell and Larry Crider of Midland, TX. Her grandchildren, Phill and Amy Powers of Dallas, TX; Patrick and Amy Powers of Mansfield, TX; Paige and Russell Robertson of Allen, TX; Gene and Joanna Sims of Florence, South Carolina; Lori and Lonnie Young of Northlake, TX; Darren Crider and Raechelle Noland of Abilene, TX; and Cacy and Adam Tischer of Midland, TX; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Powers; and her brother, J.Y. Jordan.
The family would like to thank Larry Roberts and Daugherty St. Church of Christ, Eastland Memorial Hospital , Dr. Mickish and staff, Gentiva Hospice of Eastland, and Valley View Health Care Center. A special thanks to Linda Young for not only being there for our beloved Mother & family, but for being her true friend; and to Karen Moseley for the special care she gave to our mother.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30th from 6~8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the following day on Thursday, July 31st at 11 a.m. at Daugherty St. Church of Christ, 309 S. Daugherty Ave, Eastland, TX followed by the burial in Eastland City Cemetery.
