Mary E Beaty

July 21, 1942 — March 28, 2024

On March 28, 2024, Mary Emma Beaty, 81, of Eastland, Tx passed away peacefully with her beloved son, Kelly, by her side. Born on July 21, 1942, in Ashby, Alabama to the late Dewey and Bessi Boothe.

Mary graduated High school from Bibb County High School in Centerville, Alabama in 1959. She was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. After graduating, she moved to San Antonio with her sister, Myrtle and brother-in-law, Richard, where she met the love of her life Joe G Beaty, who was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. Mary and Joe were married in April 1961 in Kerrville, Tx.

Mary and Joe followed friends Bernie & Carolyn Selle to Midland, where she worked for Felmont Oil and the Railroad Commission. Carolyn & Mary’s friendship lasted 63 years. Mary & Joe welcomed their son, Kelly, in April 1965. They moved to Eastland in 1973 where they joined the First Baptist Church. Mary remained a member of the church through her death. Mary made many lifelong friends in Eastland and remained involved in the community. Mary and Joe would be seen at the Friday night football games watching Kelly play for the Mavericks. Everyone who knew Mary also knew that her Alabama roots were shown by her favorite colors being ROLL TIDE ALABAMA.

She had a big personality that gravitated towards travel and business, allowing her to be a great success as a Travel Agent, co-owning Beaty Travel in Eastland, with longtime business partner & friend, Peg Morris. This allowed her to combine her love of friends, family, and travel together by helping others experience different cultures around the world. She also Co-owned Beaty Aviation with Joe where they encouraged Kelly to obtain his pilot’s license.

Mary was an amazing Grandmother to Brittany and Lindsey. She adored her granddaughters, and they adored her. Mary was also blessed with another granddaughter, Kristin, and recently, grandson, Samuel J. Mary later welcomed her great grandson, Zehne and great granddaughter Briella who filled her joy. She taught us the importance of God, family, friends, and travel. Her love for God, family and friends was fierce and never wavered.

Mary is preceded in Death by husband of 38 years, Joe G Beaty; son, John Joe; Parents: Henry “Dewey” Boothe & Bessie V. Boothe. Brothers James Boothe, Tommy Boothe; Nephew Michael Boothe.
