Mary Lou Blakney, 81 of Ranger, Texas Passed away on November 16, 2015. Church service honoring Mary will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Gunsight Baptist Church in Gunsight Texas with Rex Boggs officiating.
Mary Lou Blakney passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born March 27, 1934 in the Alameda Area to Carl and Mary Forman. She married Douglas Clayton Blakney on August 8, 1952 in Eastland County, after 50 years of marriage he preceded her in death on April 17, 2002.
Mrs. Blakney was a long time resident of Ranger Texas, where she was residing at the time of her passing. Mary was a very loved member of her community and was known to everyone as “Nanny”. Mary retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 20 plus years of employment. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three daughters: Marlinda Jo Hernandez of Ranger, Mary Kathryn Blankey of Ranger and Jana Lou Guess also of Ranger. Grandchildren: Tammy Kay Bernand—preceded in death on January 31, 2011, James W. Nichols, Brandi Lou Bumgarner, Mandi Marie Bethea, Doug Thomas Kammerer and Aaron Ray Nichols as well as Alissa RaeLynn Bernard and Jayson McCloud Bernard and a host of great grandchildren.
Nanny was strong in her faith and was a member of the Gunsight Baptist Church in Gunsight Texas.
Nanny was the last survivor of her multiple siblings, they have all preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her Parents: Carl and Mary Forman and her beloved Tammy Kay Bernard.
