Mary Elaine Gosnell left this earthly home on Saturday. June 29, 2013 and entered the gates of her Heavenly home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Daugherty St. Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 until 8:00 p.m.

Elaine was born to Olen Holland and Clara (Ferguson) Holland on December 21, 1947 in Abilene, TX. She married Phil Gosnell in Eastland, TX on May 11, 1984. They shared a wonderful and loving 29 long years together.

Laney was a wonderful and caring person. To know her was to love her. She loved being around people, and this loving and caring personality enabled her to own and operate a very successful Floral Business as well as a Merle Norman Studio and Hallmark Card Shop until retirement. After retirement, Laney devoted her life to her family as well as her Church. She had a special love for the Lake Cisco Church Camp where she loved to work with the youth.

Laney had 5 sons and 9 grandchildren. She had an especially close relationship with 3 of the grandchildren. Big Phil was her hero, Josh her sweetheart and as everyone knows, little Luke was her everything. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are sons Jeff & Brian Burkett of the Houston area, Phillip Gosnell Jr. and wife Heather and Chad Gosnell and wife Sylvia of Eastland and Dusty Gosnell and wife Rogina of Zepher, TX; 1 brother, Bennie Holland and wife Brenda of Fulshear, TX. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends Marie, Bobbie Jo, and the Aberegg's.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Melnyk and the staff on the Oncology and Hospice floors, who were very kind and caring not only to Laney but also to the family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Hendrick Hospice. Pallbearers will be: Phillip Gosnell III, Joshua Gosnell, Ty Gosnell, Bryce Gosnell, Beau Holland, and Blayne Street. Honorary pallbearer is Luke Gosnell.
