Mary Jo Carolyn Dewoody

Mary Jo Carolyn Byrne DeWoody 58 passed unexpectedly from this life on October 19, 2016 as she peacefully slept in her bed. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland on Saturday, 4~6 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with burial following in the Eastland City Cemetery.
Born November 15th, 1957 in San Angelo, Texas to Joseph and Genevieve Byrne. Mary was the adored wife of Kevin DeWoody, and doting mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and devoted friend to many. She is survived by Kevin and their three loving and heartbroken children, Robert DeWoody, sharing his life with Erica Sebedra and their children Baylem and River; Molly Kennedy and spouse Aaron and their children Jadyn, Jillian, and Laike; Ryan DeWoody and his spouse Crystal and their children Haley, Kale and Emma. She also leaves behind her precious mother in law Lilly DeWoody, a loving and large extended family. Mary shared her life with Kevin for 40 wonderful years. Kevin and Mary were married on September 25, 1976 in Dallas, Texas. Their union took them to several destinations over the years, with stops in Sweeny Texas, Houston Texas, Eastland Texas, Fort Worth Texas, Duncan Oklahoma, Longview Texas, Hillsboro Texas, Laredo Texas and most recently in San Antonio where they have lived for the past eight years. Kevin realized that each destination was Home, as long as Mary was by his side. Mary will be laid to rest in Eastland which has always felt like home, as they shared plans to retire and spend the rest of their lives together here. Mary lived life passionately and to its fullest which so frequently influenced everyone she met. Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior so we take comfort knowing she was welcomed with opened arms from our Lord and surrounded by loved ones that preceded her in death.
